How is the Texas Bioscience Institute different from regular college classes?
Students at the TBI learn how to apply knowledge and techniques to real-life work situations. Many of the faculty members are active medical researchers. Students will either participate in a practicum or an internship in a research laboratory.


 
What is Biotechnology?
Biotechnology is the use of living organisms and/or biological processes to solve problems or to make useful products such as vaccines and therapeutic drugs.

The TBI is designed to provide a learning environment that favors problem-solving and interdisciplinary instruction as related to science and technology where students are active partners in their education, each reaching his/her own potential.


 
What is the Texas Bioscience Institute (TBI)?
The Texas Bioscience Institute (TBI) was created to prepare students to enter the rapidly evolving bioscience medical industry. In addition to providing a strong academic and technical education that can be applied to real world situations, TBI affords students a foundation for upper-level studies in the biosciences, medicine, engineering, or mathematics fields.


 
Where is the Texas Bioscience Institute located?
The Texas Bioscience Institute facility is located on Scott and White's West Campus alongside world-class medical research and bioscience commercial laboratories at 5701 Airport Road in Temple, Texas, 76502. The state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms will provide educational opportunities for high school students, traditional college students, and nontraditional college students in the same facility.
