Do I have to major in biotechnology?
No, there are many options for students wanting to major in any degree that requires a substantial load of math and science courses such as medicine, engineering, forensics, or nursing.

How old do I have to be to enroll in the Bioscience Institute?
You must be a high school Junior.


 
Will I be counted absent from high school while I am at the TBI?
No, Texas House Bill 415 allows districts and colleges to count the student present at the same time.


 
Will I still be able to participate in athletics or band?
Yes, courses are given in the morning or afternoon at the TBI which enables the high school student to be on the regular high school campus for half of a day.


 
Will I still be considered a high school student?
Yes, you will be a full-time high school student and a college student. The courses that you are taking at the TBI will count for high school credit as well as college credit.
